Thanks so much to Janine for hosting this. I am counting down the days until conference. I so need this time away.
Name: Amanda Cox
Location: Chattanooga, TN
What you write/tagline/trademark: I write contemporary stories of hope, healing, and home.
Place in the book world: My debut novel releases Fall 2020 with Revell. Hopefully it will have an official title I can share in the coming days!!! (Can you tell I’m a little excited.)
On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: I’m more of an awkward wave and a “Hey, I’m Amanda,” kind of person. But I will accept hugs, just not usually a hug initiator.
Something VERY serious: How do you take your Starbucks? Just about anyway I can have it. Coffee is my comfort food. But my seasonal fave is a Caramel Brûlée Latte that they have each winter. Yum….
The unique talking points that will get you going for hours: Stories with great character arcs. Writing. Writing life. My kids and their antics. College ministry. My Bengal cat.
Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband, my three kids. My ancient Golden Retriever and my spunky, trouble-making Bengal cat.
Conference goals we can pray for? My life has been really turned upside down lately…not bad things…just life as I know it has changed up a lot and I am really looking forward to this sweet time rest and to connect with awesome writerly people. I want to laugh. I want to hear God speak to my heart in a unique way. I want to feel a sense of connection. Being super vulnerable here, but I always struggle with a lingering feeling of being on the outside looking in, even if I’m in the middle of things. So connections…
I also want to be a welcome face for apprehensive first timers or those with nerves about pitching. I want opportunities to be an encourager, because encouragers in my writing life have helped me get me where I am today ❤
Anything we can celebrate with you? I signed a two book contract with Revell and signed with an agent since conference last year. Definitely a dream come true and I am looking forward to all the new things that will bring over this next year.
One or two ways we can help you build your platform? I’d love to grow my Facebook page and my newsletter. If you love heartfelt, layered stories about family, I’d love for you to connect with me :). I tend to send out newsletters once per quarter and my next one will contain my cover and title for my upcoming release.
